Dec 9 - Our Sovereign Lord Comes

When royalty is presented it  is always with much pomp and circumstance, the full red carpet treatment. Why? Because it is for royalty. It is just what you are supposed to do in these circumstances.

When God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to earth, one would think that the presentation would have caught everyone's attention, and that Jesus would have been hailed as the rightful king that He is right from His birth.

The truth is that He was hailed as the king, but the breath of His Kingdom goes so far beyond the scope of the human picture that the pomp and circumstance was presented on a heavenly platform.

Angels proclaimed "Glory to God in the Highest, Peace on earth, Good will towards men." The shepherds heard it and rejoiced after going to see the King.

A brand new star appeared in the sky hailing the birth of Christ. This precipitated an almost two year journey by some wise men to come and visit the newborn King.

So all the pomp and circumstance was there just not everybody recognized it for what it was.

Will you take the time this Christmas to recognize Jesus for who He is?
He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Honor Him today.

Dec 8 - Our Saviour and Deliverer

Jesus Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost.

He has done so.

The crisis in each of our lives comes in deciding if we want to be saved. We have to make the choice to accept what God has provided to us freely in Jesus Christ. This the step of faith that we must  take trusting that God is faithful and that He will continue to love us just as He has already done so.

We may think that it is within our own power to save ourselves, but there is nothing we can do in our own strength or devices that will accomplish this. Only God is capable.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says,
"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God,
not by works so that no one can boast."

Accept the free grace of God in your life today and accept the outstretched arm of Christ. The benefits are everlasting.

Dec 7 - Righteousness Revealed

Often when we think of God, we have a picture of a judge waiting to deliver a judgment blow for everything that we do and have done wrong in our lives. If this is our picture it is misconstrued.

God is holy, and we know that what is unholy cannot be in His presence. In order to restore us to a place so that we can come before Him in righteousness He sent us His one and only Son.

In John 3:17 we read,
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world
But to save the world through Him."

Our decision determines our stand before God.

John 3:18 tells us,
"Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son."

So the choice is up to you...

Choose today.

Dec 6 - A Sign For the Time

And a Virgin shall be with child and He shall be called Immanuel.

This sign given 750 years before Christ was born pointed the way forward to when God would come and dwell in our midst . He would do so in order to bring us back into right relationship with Him.

What sign is God using in your life today to bring you into deeper relationship with Him? Don't ignore the signs as so many have done in this world, but instead by choosing, believe that Jesus is the Son of God and accept the life that he brings (1 John 5:11-12)

Dec 5 - A Prophet is Coming

Do you ever wish God would just speak directly to us? That He would take the time to interact with us on a personal level and tell us exactly what He wants for us in our lives?

What a blessing it is that God has done exactly that. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to bring us His Message, His Word, His direction for our lives.

It all starts with a relationship with God the Father that Jesus provides a way for us to have. Will you engage with Jesus and in so doing let God speak into and direct your life.

The people in the Old Testament looked forward to the coming of the Jesus. We look back to the fact that He came and now we live in the promise of what He brought to us.

Dec 4 - Redemption Promise

The scope of God's redemptive plan for us through Jesus Christ goes right back to the Garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve were being kicked out of the Garden because of their sin, a promise was also given to the serpent. A Son of Adam will crush your head, will defeat you, even though in the promise you will strike against Him.

Hebrews 2:14-15 reads, "Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death - that is, the devil - and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

What a great promise of God that has been fulfilled in Jesus Christ!!

Dec 3 - Man's Choice

We had everything. A perfect world created by God. All we could have ever wanted or hoped for and yet it was not enough for man to live within the guidelines given to us by God. We did not take God at His Word and as a result sin entered the world and separated us from God.

This is our need. For a redeemer. One who will save us and bring us back to a right relationship with God.

Thank God, He has provided this for us in Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His love for us in this, while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
